Who is Charles Lwanga, KCCA FC’s new signing

Teenage forward Charles Lwanga recently joined Lugogo-based club KCCA FC from rivals SC Villa as a free agent.

Despite his an early age, Charles Lwanga has got very rich and enviable football statistics for his age.

Charles Lwanga kicked off career at Kirinya Soccer Academy

The teenage forward started off his football career at Kirinya Soccer Academy in the year 2016.

Before Kirinya, he played football as a leisure activity. It was until 2016 when he joined Kirinya Soccer Academy that he realized that the game would turn into a career.

The former St. Jude Primary School, Masaka student has a goal poacher instinct that has seen him rise quickly through the ranks at his former club.

He joined SC Villa Junior Team in 2017/2018 season and played 21 games, scoring 18 goals and recording 12 assists in his maiden season.

In 2018/19 FUFA Juniors League season, he played 14 games, scored 15 goals and recorded 9 assists.

He did not complete the season with the Jogoo juniors and was promoted to SC Villa senior team where he played 8 games.

He started one game and came on as a substitute in seven games. He scored three goals and recorded two assists.

His time at St. Mary’s SSS Kitende

In 2019, Charles Lwanga joined St Mary’s SSS, Kitende as a student. He took part in the post-primary zonal competitions and played five games.

In the same year, he took part in the Wakiso District Football Competitions where he played four games, scored four goals and made two assists.

At the Copa Coca Cola competitions 2019, Lwanga helped his school win the competition with his crucial goals.

He played seven games, scored eight goals and made six assists.

At the East Africa games 2019, he played six games, scored four goals and made two assists.

In the Buganda Schools’ Cup 2019, Lwanga played 6 games, scored 5 goals and made 2 assists.

In 2020, he took part in Elite Secondary Schools – Super 8 tournament and played 3 games for his school, scored 3 goals and had 1 assist.
