UIA grants Prof Patrick Ogwang 5 acres of land, 10 years tax holiday

Uganda Investment Authority has granted Professor Ogwang 5 acres of land in Soroti Industrial Park to set up and industry and ten years of tax holiday.

During the ceremony when the Minister handed over the grant to Professor Ogwang, she said she believes local investors have the potential to build the country and that’s why they have focused on then.

Therefore, Jena Herbals Uganda Limited whose proprietor is Prof. Patrick Ogwang so happens to be one of these local investments hence the free Investment licence it has been granted by the investment Ministry.

“Our focus is on supporting local investors. We believe that our country can be built by ourselves. Our goal is to make sure that we can support the local investors to set up and register their businesses as soon as possible,” said Evelyn Anite, the State Minister in charge of Investment and Privatization.

Furthermore, the Minister praised Professor Patrick Ogwang for listening to the president’s call and also showing his interest to establish an industry which also motivated them to step in and help him.

“We congratulate you for listening to the call of the president. You have registered your company and that you have expressed desire to put up a factory, we had to assist you,” she went on to say.

While explaining the reasons as to why Soroti Industrial Park had been chosen as the area for the establish of the industry, the Minister said it is because Soroti is close to the raw materials required for the production of Covidex as she said;

“We are happy you are close to natural resources. Ugandans are testifying for Covidex to have helped them get relief from Covid. We will give you support since our job by law is to facilitate investment. We will always be available in case of any challenges.”

Professor Ogwang on the other hand said that they are ready to start the construction process of the Industry while he also informed that the industry shall not be used for his benefit but rather for the betterment of Uganda and Africa.

“We have already mobilized resources. We are ready to start construction as soon as the environment assessment report is out. I want to thank government for putting more emphasis in local investment,” said Prof. Ogwang conclusively.
