Uganda Police arrests another dangerous suicide bomber

The Uganda Police through their social media pages have today announced how they tracked down and nabbed another member of the dangerous rebel group ADF.

The arrested is known as Isma Kiyemba a 24 year old male resident of Makandwa Village, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso district.

Kiyemba was arrested by the Joint Intelligence and Counter Terror Task Teams using advanced surveillance techniques.

“The Joint Intelligence and Counter Terror Task Teams, have arrested another member of the ADF terror cell, and recovered an assortment of terror related exhibits,” Police announced.

On being arrested, Kiyemba led the security agencies to his home where bomb making materials were discovered.

“Upon arrest, he led the team to a search at his premises at Kajjansi where an assortment of bomb making materials which included; chemical fluids, 5 capacitors, electric and copper wires, batteries, screws, nails, a digital timer, two electric mortars, 5 mobile phones and several sim cards were recovered. In addition, a Bank Visa card and materials used in the manufacture of destructive devices including experiments were also recovered and exhibited,” Police informed.

It was further established that the suspect was the one who assembled the suicide h
jacket and belt that was detonated by a one Muzafaru Matovu on a Swift bus at Lungala in Mpigi district.

This suspect was also in the process of assembling another IED on the instructions of an ADF commander.

It’s further said that he was recruited and trained into the ADF by Imam Sulaiman Nsubuga of Lweza who is still on the run.

Kiyemba was also found with a written WILL and planned mission by the time of his arrest.
