Uganda Cranes team departs for Northern regional tour

Uganda Cranes delegation has on Wednesday morning left for Kitgum town ahead of the Northern region tour.

The match is set for Thursday, 4th November 2021 at Boma playground.

The delegation was led by the head coach Milutin Sredojevic alongside members of the technical staff.

Others include FUFA referees’ manager Samuel Egesa and the event organizers Kibo Media officials.

“We are embarking on the preparations for the two final group E matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers at home against Kenya and away to Mali,” Micho said.

“The Northern region tour is further assessment to the local legion of players on the Uganda Cranes team,” he added.

The traveling team has some additions to replace the injured players.

The new faces originally not summoned include KCCA defenders John Revita and Geofrey Wasswa.

The tour is part of Uganda Cranes preparations for the final two games in group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

One will be at home against Kenya on 11th November and away to Mali on 14th November 2021.

Last month, the Uganda Cranes played the Eastern region select team at the Mbale Municipal Stadium and won 1-0 courtesy of Joackiam Ojera’s goal.
