The ministry of health has recorded 326 new coronavirus cases, which is the country’s highest number of cases registered in a single day.
The country’s cumulative coronavirus deaths have surpassed 50 reaching 52 after the ministry of health registering three more fatalities from Kampala.
Of the 326 Confirmed cases, 317 are from contacts and alerts while 9 are from returnnees.
The 317 contacts and alerts are from Kampala (94), Buikwe (93), Kitgum (29), Gulu (17), Moroto (19), Mbale (10), Amuru (9), Kapchorwa (8), Pader (7), Nwoya (5), Bududa (5), Mukono (5), Wakiso (4), Jinja (2), Omoro (2), Sironko (3), Zombo (2), Arua (1), Namisindwa (1) and Tororo (1).
Among the 9 returnnees that tested positive for coronavirus, five are from India while the remaining are from Burkina Faso, Iraq, Italy and Kenya.

Of the 4,106 samples that the ministry of health tested today, 3,928 were from samples obtained from contacts and alerts while 178 were from the points of entry.
To date, Uganda’s cumulative total of confirmed cases is 4,703 of which 1,998 recoveries have been registered.
