Simon Peter Mundeyi the Internal affairs Ministry spokesperson has come out to reveal why they chased Swangz Avenue singer Winfred Nakanwagi aka Winnie Nwagi from their premises yesterday like a thief.
A video surfaced yesterday online showing Nwagi being chased from the entrance in a very humiliating way.
According to Mundeyi, Nwagi came with all her thighs and saggy boobs out. They could therefore not tolerate her into their premises dressed in such a way.
This is because lots of people from different walks of life access the Ministry. And besides they have a strict dressing policy.
Its the reason they couldn’t let her in although she didn’t seem pleased by this decision.
“I didn’t expect this story to break through via social media. However, it’s true she came for a passport renewal but her dresscode was unacceptable as per our dresscode policy. She was putting on hot pants with her thighs all outside. Her blouse also left her breasts all on display and the way she was walking was is if she wanted everyone to see them.
The security intercepted her from accessing premises because we host a lot of people such as religious men, parents with kids and old people. She didn’t take the incident lightly and thought we had humiliated and embarrassed her but that’s policy,” she said.
Nwagi was taught a huge lesson yesterday that she probably won’t forget. And hopefully she will learn how to start dressing properly when visiting some places.
Dress code has become one of the hardest things for musicians to do especially female ones. Recently government banned musicians from performing in schools anymore because of indecency.
