Additionally, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe went on to inform that at the time of his demise, Mr. Mwesige had applied to become a Senior Lecturer at the university although he never got a chance to accomplish his aim.
In the span of five days, this marks the second death the university has recorded specifically among staff members as on 1st July, Professor Noble Ephraim Banadda lost his life to covid-19 at Case clinic, Kampala.
Professor Banadda also left a huge gap at the institute of higher learning as at the time of his death, he was a top researcher as well as the head of the Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering.
