Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has come out to reveal the identity of the person who bombed Swift bus yesterday.
This bus which was traveling from Kampala to Ishaka had a bomb explode inside around Lungala, Mpugi district.
According to Enanga, the attempt was a suicide bombing carried out by a one Matovu Isaac, a 23 year old from Kireka.
Matovu who guised as Mustafa died on spot and has been in the ADF ranks.
” The suspected bomber was identified as Matovu Isaac, a 23 year old resident of Kamuli A-Zone in Kireka. He died on the spot. He was on the wanted list of the ADF sleeper cells, and we were tracking him as Mustafa,” Fred Enanga said during a press briefing.
Enanga added that the neighbor of the suicide bomber didn’t sustain injuries
It was rather the Superintendent of Police Adriane Kwetegyereza who is also the Acting Regional Commander of Greater Bushenyi who was seated behind this bomber that sustained serious injuries.
He was however given first aid by the Red Cross and rushed to a nearby hospital.
The rest of the passengers did not sustain injuries.
Enanga added that the conductor and bus driver are undergoing interrogation to know how this bomber got onto the bus.
