Police Arrest Three Suspects over Katakwi Double Murder

There people have been arrested in connection with the Katakwi double murder which happened on Monday claiming the life of Omachar Emmanuel, a businessman and his wife.

The trio is said to have raided Omachar’s home at Aleles village, Akisim parish, Angodingodi, sub-county, in Katakwi District where they killed him and his wife Achode Teddy and inflicted serious injuries to their two daughters.

“The scene of the crime was visited by the Regional team from East Kyoga and Katakwi CPS which included homicide detectives, who rushed the two juvenile victims to Katakwi General hospital for further medical attention, “ASP Ageca Oscar Gregory, the East Kyoga spokesperson said.

“They also conveyed the bodies of the two deceased persons to the hospital for further post mortem analysis,” he added

According to ASP Ageca, the suspects were arrested after preliminary information linked them to the murders and are currently being detained at Katakwi as police continue investigation to establish the motive of the murder.

“The police assures the public that there is no place for such acts of violence and impunity, and will fast track the investigation to ensure the suspects are thoroughly processed and arraigned before the courts of law,” he said

“We further ask the public to disregard alarmist reports that Bijambiya (panga wielding gangs) had killed the two people. The incident is a straightforward case of murder,” he added
