Old Taxi park & City Square added to the list of vaccination

Ministry of Health has added the Old Taxi park and City Square to this list of vaccination grounds in the country. However, the two are only temporary vaccination grounds only meant to enhance the vaccination campaign hence the vaccination process here shall run from Monday afternoon which was yesterday until the end of this week.

This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona and other open spaces to be used include Okuvu Church, Namboole Stadium, Mayor’s Garden Entebbe, Wankulukuku Stadium, Kigobe Primary School, e.t.c.

Currently, the country aims at vaccinating at least 4.8 million people of her current population by December 2021 so as to facilitate the opening of other sectors of the country like the education sector and entertainment industry.

Out of the targeted population to be vaccinated, reports from the Ministry of Health indicate that 2,283,718 people have been in position to receive at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine.

The country first went under mandatory lockdown in March 2020 and despite attempts to regain normalcy at the beginning of this year, the surge in covid-19 cases forced the country into a second lockdown.

Therefore, the only way that country can fully be opened while the population is protected against chances of suffering from the covid-19 virus is if majority of the population is vaccinated against the coronavirus disease.

Conclusively, the Ministry of Health spokesperson Mr. Ainebyoona urged more Ugandans to take the vaccine since it is safe and is the best way to help the country to recover from the covid-19 pandemic.
