The most recent judicial transfers have affected a total of 13 judges belonging to the High Court and has also resulted into the deployment of new judges in the judiciary.
Basing on Principal Judge Dr. Flavian Zeija who implemented the transfers and deployments, it is expected that the transfers will be as follows;
Justice Duncan Gaswaga who initially served under the Commercial Court is being transferred to Lira High Court in capacity as the resident judge while Lady Justice Elizabeth Kabanda has been transferred to the International Crimes Division of the High Court, Kampala from Mukono.
Aside from the above, Lady Justice Elizabeth Jane Alivdiza who previously worked as the senior resident judge for Fort Portal is to move to the Internal Crimes Division whereas Lady Justice Dr.Winfred Nabisinde will leave Jinja High Court resident judge for the Jinja High Court circuit.
As for Lady Justice Cornelia Kakooza Sabiiti, she is expected to join the Commercial Division of High Court from the Land Division where she was. Justice Isaac Muwata shall move to Criminal Division of the High Court in Kampala from the Lira High Court.
Justice Vincent Emmy Mugabo will be expected to move to the High Court circuit in Fort Portal and Justice Victoria N.N.Katamba will currently serve in her capacity as the head of the Masaka High Court Circuit.

On the other hand, the new judge deployments are expected to move as follows;
Jinja’s resident Judge for High Court is Justice Tom Chemutai while Lady Justice Florence Nakacwa currently serves as the resident Judge for Mukono High Court and Justice Lawrence Tweyanze is the resident Judge for Masaka Court.
More deployments include Justice Vincent Wagona who was appointed to Fort Portal as the High Court resident Judge while Lady Justice Alice Komuhangi is now part of the Family Division of the High Court.
Furthermore, Dr. Zeija in the circular indicated when the transfers and deployments shall be effective as it read; “The deployment of the newly appointed judges takes immediate effect while the transfers are effective November, 8, 2021.”
