Busega vulnerable residents were yesterday filled with joy when Mesha Steel Limited donated food worth UGX 20 million to them.
Although the government had promised to send UGX 100,000 to all vulnerable Ugandans, some vulnerable Ugandans were not in position to benefit since they did not receive a single penny on their mobile money accounts.
To make matters worse, the country’s economy is under lockdown due to COVID-19 now which makes it hard for people to survive especially those leaving within the city center. They can hardly find what to eat or use to feed their families.
While speaking to media, one of the beneficiaries from Mesha Steel’s kind gesture Juliet Nakisekka informed that she is currently living with her two children that she must sustain on her own.
This is because by the time the second lockdown was imposed, which includes the inter-district travel ban, her husband had traveled up country and now the weight of the entire family rests upon her shoulders.
Furthermore, the area LC I Chairperson John Bosco Wasswa also disclosed the situation in which most people are living as he said that most residents end up sleeping on hungry stomachs and yet still, they did not receive the relief aid.
It is such conditions that prompted Mesha Steel Limited to step into the situation and give relief food alongside other items to over five thousand resident residing in the Busega city surburb.
Also, the managing director of Mesha Steel Limited, Lydia Mwesigwa informed media that it is very crucial for them to help vulnerable communities in such times when everyone is struggling to survive.
Mesha Steel Limited is known for producing steel made items which also entail items like barbed wire among others at an affordable price, so in case you need any of those, reach out to them today.
