Kyotera Woman MP Succumbs to Covid-19

The speaker of paliament, Rt Hon Alitwala Rebecca Kadaga has today announced the death of Kyotera Woman MP Robinah Ssentongo. The Kyotera Woman legislature died of coronvirus.

Kyotera Woman Member of Paliament becomes the third Ugandan legislature to succumb to the coronavirus pandemic. The other lawmakers that have died of this pandemic are Kamuli Municipality Member of Parliament Rehema Watongola, who died in November and  Pallisa district Woman MP, Faith Alupo who died in September.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus pandemic has claimed 228 lives in Uganda since June when the country registered it’s first Covid-19 death.

In the recent coronavirus results, the Ministry of Health registered 628 cases bringing the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 29,361.

According to the results, 623 contacts and alerts tested positive and 5 truck drivers from Malaba and Elegu.

Of the contacts and alerts, 126 were from Wakiso while the remaining were from Masaka (37), Mbarara (28), Luwero (24), Kabarole (21), Kasese (17), Soroti (10), Jinja (7), Mukono (5), Mubende (4), Tororo (8), Kaberamaido (3), Mbale (4), Kyotera (3), Bududa (3).

Others were from Kalungu (2), Nebbi (2), Arua (2), Budaka (2), Busia(2), Zombo (2), Kaliro (1), Namisindwa (1), Amuru (1), Moroto (2), Kamwenge (1), Abim (1), Kiryandongo (1), Iganga (1), Adjumani (4), Nakaseke(1), Kyegegwa (1), Kyenjojo (1) .
