Gov't starts receiving student loan scheme applications.

The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) has started receiving applications for students who are interested in getting the students’ loan scheme. The board expects to choose 1600 successful applicants including 100 continuing students.

“The Board with funding from government has set aside UGX 6Billion to support 1500 new cohort of student loan beneficiaries and at least 100 Continuing students in the Academic Year 2021/22” The board executive director Micheal Wanyama Said. This was during a press briefing at the Uganda Media Center.

“I, therefore, announce to all prospective applicants that the Board is now open for applications for the 8th Cohort of the study loans under the Students’ Loan Scheme from eligible Ugandan students who have been admitted for the Academic Year 2021/22” he added.

 Currently, the student loan scheme cover’s tuition fees, functional fees, research fees and Aids and appliances for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). To apply, visit The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board website
