For all those Ugandans who have been hyping Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz as the biggest artist from East Africa, forget about it as the AFRIMMA awards last night didn’t prove so.
The Big Talent boss was able to floor the Tanzanian bongo flavor star to the much coveted award of the best male artist in East Africa.
Kenzo who was not present at the ceremony beat other big names from the region such as Sauti Sol, Rayvanny Harmonize, Rwanda’s Meddy, Kenya’s Darassa among others.
His award was collected by B2C and Spice Diana who attended the awards after picking up nominations in different categories.
The Sitya loss singer took to his Instagram stories to thank everyone that voted for him.
“Thank you God for making this possible for us again.
Thank you All Africa Music Awards it’s always an honor.” Kenzo wrote.
He was the only Ugandan singer who walked away with an award amongst those that were nominated.
Kenzo lost the same award in 2020 to Diamond Platinumz.
