Leone Island music empire boss Dr Jose Chameleone might have followed songstress Spice Diana in snubbing local awards.
It should be noted that the songstress after being beaten to a number of awards locally last year by Azawi turned the loss into anger.
She warned all award organizers never to nominate her again lest she sues them.
Now Chameleone snubbed the nominations he had bagged in the Galaxy FM Zzina Awards.
The Wale wale singer had received three nominations in the categories of Best Afro Beat song, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year categories.
Chameleone however says that he’s been around the music industry for 20 years and is now a certified music General.
The singer says that such categories should be left for his junuors and the only category he would appreciate being nominated in is the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Chameleone however appreciated Galaxy FM for the stone added onto the music industry.
“As I celebrate 2 decades of nonstop entertaining, I highly appreciate everyone of us who has lifted the music spirit.
Thank you and I can never stop appreciating you all.
Galaxy Fm uganda in a special way you have tirelessly contributed to our music and may you continue to uplift every talents.
I wish to bring in my concern as a General in this celebrated music industry. Please I wish you can next time substitute my nominations to the artistes that really work hard to be part of the Zzina awards.
I don’t mean to say I don’t appreciate me part of it. But am sure so many young artistes need that space. I guess next year you’ll consider something like “Lifetime Achievement” where many great artistes like me belong.
Congratulations all nominees,” Chameleone posted on his Facebook page.
The Galaxy FM Zzina Awards are slated to take place on the 25th of March.
Different acts have been nominated in 18 categories and will be hoping to walk home with the respective awards.
