Disan Galiwango is now officially a Venom after putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
The marauding wing-back signs for an undisclosed fee from the Red Eagles and becomes the Venoms.
His arrival brings an end to transfer speculations which have been linking him to various clubs like KCCA FC before finally agreeing to terms with Vipers.
Who is Disan Galiwango?
Disan Galiwango was born on April 2nd 1998. He began his football career at Rifo Soccer Academy before being picked by Simba SC.
However, during his debut season of 2015/16 season, Simba SC was relegated and they bought The Saints FC.
He stayed with the army side throughout the 2016/17 season until January 2018 when Water acquired his services for half a season.
In August 2018, the versatile player was lured by Express FC where he has distinctively plied his trade until the end of the just-concluded season.
But Vipers presented an irresistible package in this transfer season to acquire the former Express FC skipper’s signature.
Fred Kajoba hails new player
Vipers SC head coach Fred Kajoba has hailed his new acquisition Disan Galiwango claiming that he has potential to play in big clubs like Vipers SC.
“Galiwango is a player with huge potential. But most importantly he is also ready to come in and contribute right away which is a key factor,” Fred Kajoba said.
At Wankulukuku, the former Express captain played many roles but was primarily fielded as a winger.
But at Vipers, he will vie with teenage sensation Aziz Kayondo for a slot into the club’s starting line up on match days.
Despite conceding few goals last season, Kajoba is intent on building an impregnable back-line whilst keeping CAF Champions League football at the back of his mind as the big picture.
Disan Galiwango promise to give his best
After signing a contract, Disan Galiwango has promised to give out his best to the newly joined club.
“In my view, Vipers is a big football brand in this country hence I’m honoured to be joining this great club.”
“I promise to add value as expected,” Disan Galiwango said.
