The release of PLE UNEB Results 2020 has been barred by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) did to Covid-19 related restrictions.
Basing on the UNEB spokesperson, Jennifer Kalule, the release of the results has not been suspended but rather it shall be delayed as the National Examinations body needs to align it’s to match the guidelines put in place by government.
Due to this, the examination results shall not be released as earlier planned but rather, the examinations board shall prepare at the appropriate time, the 2020 examinations results shall be released.
“We have not suspended the release of exams but we are going to reorganise according to the new guidelines [Covid-19 guidelines] that have been given to us by the government and they have been given to everybody. So we have to re-organize and work with the Ministry of Education and see the best timing of releasing these exams,” Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB spokesperson said while speaking to local media.
As a result of the second wave of the deadly coronavirus disease that hit the country, the head of state President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last week sent the country into a 42 days mandatory lockdown following the surge in Covid-19 deaths.
This was just one of the multiple measures that were put in place to ensure that the spread of coronavirus was limited in the country such as a ban on the inter-district movement to reduce on the transmission of the virus.
It is because of such measures that the Uganda National Examinations Board spokesperson said that they have to revise the way of releasing results so that they could match the guidelines set by the government.

Initially, the UNEB program indicated that results were meant to be realized as soon as possible especially the Primary Leaving Examination however, the schedule will have to be weavered due to covid-19.
Hence the realize of the examinations that were sat earlier this year will have been be delayed until the national examinations board has found out an alternative way to match the mandatory Covid-19 guidelines.
