Breaking: Anonymous Hackers shuts down Ministry of Gender and Labour’s Website

Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development

The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development’s website has allegedly been hacked by the Anonymous Hackers just hours after Minister Frank Tumwebaze dared them to take on Ugandan “Gov’t ICT resilience & Cyber Defence capabilities”.

The website emits a service error on access; “Service Unavailable: The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request”.

Such an error always indicate a denial of service attack on the web server rendering it inaccessible to the users.

This is one of the many attacks the Anonymous Hackers have implicated on Ugandan government ministries and services departments including that of Ugandan Police which was witnessed last year.

However, some sources have indicated that the website has been experiencing technical issues for a long time which might have led to its failure to be accessible.
