Two people have been confirmed following a deadly bomb explosion on a bus belonging to the Swift Safaris Limited at Lungala in Mpigi. Several others sustained injuries from the explosion which occurred on Monday evening.
According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the scene has been cordoned off pending a thorough assessment and investigation by the bomb experts.
“A team of bomb experts has been dispatched to Lungala, along the Kampala-Masaka highway, after a deadly explosion occurred on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company under registration number UAU 989T, at around 5pm . The bus was traveling from Kampala to Bushenyi.,” he said.
“So far two people have been confirmed dead and several other victims including injured persons being evacuated from the scene.” he added
The explosion comes three days after the bomb attack in Komamboga
Fred Enanga has also promised to periodically give updates surrounding the incident.
