The National Unity Platform party leadership has urged its party president Bobi Wine alias Robert Kyagulani to visit Masaka district so that more security personnel follows him. Masaka is currently facing daily killings by machete-wielding things. To date, 28 people have been murdered.
“I was having a chat with Hon. Kyagulanyi that maybe he should go and camp in Masaka for some days, you will see the amount of security deployed,” the party spokesperson, Hon Joel Ssenyonyi, said while appearing on an early morning TV show.
Bobi Wine’s presence has always influenced the deployment of several security organs. This was more visible during the campaign period.
While speaking about the ongoing murders in the region Bobi Wine blamed government incompetencies for failing to stop the killings.
“It is apparent that in order to hide its own incompetence in stopping the serial murders, the regime either deliberately exaggerated its role in curbing the first wave, or has not been entirely truthful about its investigations into the motive and criminals behind the murders,” Bobi Wine.
