National Unity Platform party president Robert Kyagulani alias Bobi Wine has stung government for failing to deliver Ugandans following today’s incident where his wife Barbie was blocked while in charity activities.

Barbie was told blocked in Nakaseke district together with several NUP members of o
parliament. They had gone to donate various items including hospital beds and sanitary pads.

“The regime has failed to execute its mandate of ensuring the health and general welfare of its most vulnerable citizens. The Ministry of Education led by Madam Janet Museveni has on several ocassions promised to provide school children with basics like sanitary pads, only to later turn around and claim there is no money,” Bobi Wine said

“As a result, many school girls from underprivileged families continue to drop out of school for lack of sanitary pads. Now beset with shame, the regime is keen on ensuring that no one else fulfils the basic duties it has failed to fulfill,” he added.

While in Nakaseke, Police fired teargas and bullets to disperse crowds which had gathered to receive the items. Barbie was in company of Hon. Brenda Nabukenya (Woman MP, Luwero District), Hon. Allan Mayanja (Nakaseke Central) and Hon. Lukalidde Hassan Kirumira (MP, Katikamu South).

According to Uganda Police, the team was advised to consider giving the goods to be district Anti Covid-19 task force by starting to fire teargas which her team rejected thereby facing them to fire teargas.
