Barcelona could be prepared to hand Manchester United outcast Luke Shaw an escape from his Old Trafford hell.
The left back has endured a difficult season, with manager Jose Mourinho calling out his own player for what he believes to be a number of sub-par performances.
The most recent incident occurred during the FA Cup victory over Brighton, when the former Southampton academy product was hauled off at half-time for what the Portuguese deemed an inadequate defensive display.
Pundits and players have all come to the defence of the England international, and Mourinho’s continual alienation of the 22-year-old has cast doubt over his future at the club.
And according to the Mirror, Barcelona are weighing up a surprise move to take him to Spain. The report suggests the Spanish giants see the left back as value for money and could be willing to compete with the likes of Chelsea for his signature.

Shaw may find first team opportunities as difficult to come by at the Nou Camp as he has at United.
Jordi Alba is first choice down the flank for Ernesto Valverde and has been a regular since joining from Valencia in 2012.
Lucas Digne was signed in 2016 from Paris Saint-Germain to offer some competition for the Spanish international but has failed to make his mark.
Shaw’s current contract at United is up in the summer, although the club are likely to exercise an option of an extra year to ensure they do not lose him for nothing.
