Ancelotti set for a contract renewal at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has the higher-ups at Real Madrid in a state of happiness, as there is no area in which the Italian is lacking.

The football is good, the wins and titles keep coming, the fans adore him and he is beloved in the dressing room.

Real Madrid’s brilliant start to the season has truly consolidated Ancelotti’s leadership at the helm of the club.

While it is true that he is not even halfway through the three-year contract he signed on his return in 2021, a possible renewal is already being discussed.

Ancelotti’s second stint at the helm of Real Madrid was full of pitfalls, as he arrived to take the baton from Zinedine Zidane, with the Frenchman having become one of the most successful coaches in Real Madrid’s history.

Moreover, he was not the first, second or third choice for the role.

He was also accompanied by the feeling that he would be a ‘placeholder coach’ until a new project was finalised.

As if that wasn’t enough, the reinforcements were limited.

Only David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga arrived in 2021, before Aurelian Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger in 2022.

But, Ancelotti has turned all that around to make his second spell a resounding success.

Ancelotti’s winning machine

Ancelotti continues to be the winning machine he was during his first spell at the club.

In his first stint, he won 75 percent of his matches, 89 out of 119 games in all competitions. He now stands at 73 percent in his second stint after 45 wins in 62 games.

Four titles out of five for Ancelotti

Last season, Ancelotti won the Supercopa de Espana, regained national hegemony by winning LaLiga Santander and capped off the campaign with one of the most spectacular Champions League titles in the club’s history.

If in his first stint he won four of the nine titles he played for (44 percent).

Now, in his second, he has won four of the five he has managed in (80 percent), with the UEFA Super Cup having already been picked up.

Ancelotti’s harmonious dressing room

“It’s one of the best dressing rooms ever seen at Real Madrid,” sources at the club say, crediting the coach.

He has the respect and affection of his players, a connection that has a lot to do with what happens on the pitch.

His management has brought out the best in the group and even mitigated the issues caused by the likes of Gareth Bale, Marcelo, Isco, Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio.

Ancelottihas also managed to improve the performance of several players. Viniciushas elevated his game under him, Fede Valverde is flying in his new position and Rodrygo’s role has taken on a marked importance.

He has also prolonged the careers of the club’s elder statesmen including Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Real Madrid love what Ancelotti is doing

Florentino Perez is delighted with Ancelotti’s work. Apart from the personal understanding that has always existed between the two, the club consider the Italian’s management of the team to be impeccable.

His loyalty as a club man is also appreciated. He is a good coach and a good spokesman, always rowing in the same direction as the club.
