Breaking News reaching our News desk indicates the quitting of the director of Operations Services in the Uganda Police Force. In addition, it’s none other than the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP Asuman Mugenyi.
He had served with loyalty in the Uganda Police for about a period of more than 32 years. However, his last day in office was Friday the 29th of May 2020, and thus since has given over his powers to his deputy senior Commissioner of police (SCP) John Nuwagiira.
“AIGP Asuman Mugenyi neither suspended nor sacked as the rumor is spreading on the different social media platforms. However, he had just served his contract thus he simply just observed his contract until the end,” Police spokesperson Fred Enanga clarified.
Therefore this now makes AIGP Asuman Mugenyi the fifth AIGP to leave the Uganda Police force in the last three years. Not so long ago, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martin Okoth Ochola replaced AIGP Steven Kasiima who was the director of traffic and road safety.
Still about exits, AIGP Godfrey Bangirana was forced out of office by the high court in November last year after he had defied Ochola’s directive to leave office. In addition, he was the director of logistics and engineering.
