Afcon 2021: Mali hopes higher ahead of kickoff

Regularly appearing in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Mali Eagles are hoping high this time round.

The Eagles are in group F along with Tunisia, Gambia and Mauritania and their primary target will be making it out of the group.

According to head coach Mohamed Magassouba, although they are in a hard group their main objective is to make it to the knockout stage.

“We will go to Cameroon with ambition, but also with humility. We have to expect some complicated matches. The first objective is to get out of this group,” he said.

They will rely more on star players like Diadie Samassekou, Amadou Haidara and El Bilal Toure.
