The cumulative COVID-19 cases in Uganda have today risen to 2,362 after 99 testing positive. The country’s death toll has also reached 22.
According to the ministry of health statement, of the new cases, 84 are from contacts and alerts, five are health workers, six are returnees while four are truck drivers.

The contacts and alerts are from Kampala(49), Kikuube(8), Gulu(5), Sironko(4), Lamwo(3), Lira(2), Luwero (2), Tororo(2), Yumbe(2) while Amuru, Bundibugyo, Abim, Mbale, Kiryandongo, Kotido and Namisindwa had one case each.
Of the five health workers that tested positive for coronavirus, two were from Kampala, while the remaining were from Mbale, Kikuube and Gulu.
A 35 year old female and trader from Kikuubo, Kampala and a 36 year old male from Kisenyi all in Kampala are Uganda’s latest COVID-19 fatalities.

The six returnees that tested positive for coronavirus include; 4 from Saudi Arabia and one from Kenya.
Todate, Uganda has registered 1,248 coronavirus recoveries and 22 deaths of the 2,362 totol confirmed cases.
